On Saturday, January 18, 2025, we held the much-anticipated groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of our academy. This event marks the beginning of an ambitious project that will transform our facilities and expand our educational and ministerial opportunities, with a deep focus on raising future generations of Christian leaders.

 

The new building will house classrooms, offices, a computer lab, biblical counseling rooms, a conference and event hall, a basketball court, showers, a store, a spacious dining hall, and a chapel. These modern facilities will allow us to provide quality education and technical training programs to a wider variety of students, including college students, young adults, and young parents who wish to receive training. These individuals are unable to attend on Saturday mornings due to work or college commitments, but with our new building, they will be able to come on other days of the week. In addition, the new building will feature a Technical Vocational Institute open to the general public. This institute will offer a wide range of high-demand technical courses, providing a unique opportunity for the community to receive professional training and the gospel. One of the primary goals of the Technical Vocational Institute is to raise local funds to support the ministry in the Dominican Republic and reduce dependency on resources from the United States. The ceremony was attended by all our students, as well as a large number of graduates, parents, pastors, and city leaders. Among the notable attendees was Mayor Raymundo Ortiz, who was deeply impressed by the project and committed to supporting the academy with a contribution for the construction. We were also honored to have the VanDriel family and some of their close friends from the United States as special guests. With the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction enters the preliminary stage, during which soil and structural studies will be conducted, government permits obtained and plans for the new building drawn up. Construction is expected to begin in the coming months. This academy will be a beacon of light for tomorrow’s Christian leaders who will guide the changes the world needs. We ask our community to continue praying for this project so that the Lord will provide all the necessary funding and resources for its successful completion.
